This is a purely astronomical calculation (an abridged Meeus algorithm) referenced to noon Universal Time, describing the Moon’s appearance and claiming nothing about anyone. What you would have seen from your own sky may differ slightly with time and location.

How is the Moon’s phase calculated?

The phase is set by the angle between the Moon and the Sun as seen from Earth, called the elongation. At zero degrees the Moon lies between Earth and Sun and nothing is lit — the new moon. At one hundred and eighty degrees it sits opposite the Sun and shows a full disc. Everything between is a crescent or a gibbous moon, waxing or waning.

How does the Moon’s age differ from the Hijri date?

The Moon’s age is a continuous astronomical figure measuring days elapsed since the exact instant of the new moon, and it can be fractional. A Hijri date is a whole number that begins at sunset and follows either the tabular calculation or a crescent sighting. The two need not match exactly.

Does the Moon’s phase affect a newborn’s personality?

There is no scientific evidence that it does. Studies examining links between lunar phases and human behaviour or birth patterns have not produced correlations that survive statistical scrutiny. This page reports an astronomical fact about the sky on a given day, and claims nothing beyond it.
